use youtube for cold email
Here's something that I have to share with you — especially if you’re into automation, outbound, or just like finding creative ways to get in front of the right people.
It started with a simple thought:
What if YouTube wasn’t just a place to post content… but a lead gen engine?
Here’s what I mean
People are literally posting videos about the exact problems we solve — tutorials, tool reviews, "how-to" videos — and just… leaving those sales signals out there in the open.
So we built a system inside n8n that does this:
1. Tracks YouTube for specific keywords
We use Kwatch to monitor new videos with titles like:
→ “Lemlist tutorial”
→ “How to send cold emails”
→ “Smartlead review”
When someone posts that, we know they’re doing outbound and likely need automation help.
You can adjust this for whatever niche you're in — SaaS, ecom, AI, recruiting — just swap in relevant keywords.
2. Scrapes their channel contact info
We grab their public business email using RapidAPI. No guessing, no fake leads — just real creators.
3. Auto-writes a personalized email
We send their video description to ChatGPT, and it comes back with a message like:
“Hey James, just saw your video on Smartlead — loved the breakdown of your sequence strategy. Curious if you've tried automating that with n8n yet?”
(Feels like something you’d actually reply to, right?)
4. Sends the email via Smartlead — on autopilot
Once the message is ready, we push it to Smartlead, with inbox rotation and deliverability built in. You don’t lift a finger after setup.
Why this blew my mind
No scraping giant cold lists
No guessing who might be interested
No boring, generic outreach
Just hyper-relevant, human emails to people already talking about what you do.
Oh — and it runs 24/7. So while you’re working (or sleeping), it’s finding new warm leads in the background.
I recorded a quick video walking through the whole thing.
If you want to see how it works (or clone it), check it out here:

Hope it gives you ideas — or even better, saves you hours
Let me know what you think if you try it!
